Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Propane Delivery Driver/Technician to join our team. This dual-role position involves both delivering propane to residential and commercial customers and performing routine maintenance and repairs on propane systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellent customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Propane Delivery:
- Safely and efficiently deliver propane to customer locations based on scheduled routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the delivery truck is in optimal condition.
- Accurately measure and record propane levels during deliveries and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Technical Services:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on propane systems, including tanks, regulators, and lines.
- Conduct safety inspections of propane systems.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering technical advice related to propane systems.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations related to propane handling and technical services.
- Use safety equipment and protective gear as required.
- Comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete delivery tickets, work orders, and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for the delivery vehicle and propane equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Monitor and manage vehicle fuel levels and ensure it is refueled as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL Class B with a hazardous materials and tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain).
- Positive Attitude and Willing to work
- Certification or training in propane systems and equipment preferred.
- Previous experience in propane delivery and technical services preferred.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to propane handling.
- Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with effective communication abilities.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
Working Conditions:
- May involve working in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on delivery and service needs.
- On-call rotation required.
