Job Summary:   

 

The Database Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of new and existing company databases.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees database development and modification efforts
  • Designs and implements secure, efficient, and accurate databases
  • Translate logical data models into database design
  • Performs complex analyses
  • Maintains current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices
  • Ensures that databases are designed to meet specifications and requirements
  • Ensures that database projects are completed on time
  • Develops and maintains documentation and standards
  • Fine tuning the database server to ensure peak performance
  • Assists Development and Infrastructure Teams in identifying issues in production and/or development environments
  • Gathers, organizes, and interprets data from the database to provide reports
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Information Systems, Mathematics or Business Administration preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL databases
  • Experience with using ETL between multiple databases
  • Experience with SQL queries and Microsoft SSRS experience
  • Understanding of computer languages used within database (ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#, MVC, Web forms, HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server, XML, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, web development)
  • Understanding of database design and construction
  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
  • Preferred experience with Atlassian suite of technologies (JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Stable work history

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

Normal office environment. There may be extended periods (1 hour or more) of sitting in front of a computer screen, in addition to standing, walking, climbing, and stooping in order to complete the responsibilities of the job. Work schedules vary depending on business needs (various shifts to accommodate customers). Travel to visit vendors and job sites, approximately 6 - 12 times per year.
