Job Title: Data Governance Manager
Location: East Hanover, New Jersey
Duration: 12+ Months
Description:
. Define data governance operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement) in line with policies and standards, clearly articulating roles & responsibilities and establish and disseminate required frameworks, methodologies, tools, standards and templates to be used for Data Governance
. Act as a single point of responsibility for data governance in his/her domain of expertise
. Play a strategic role in the implementation of priority projects related to:
. Centralizing the exchange of operational data between systems
. Integrated, cross-platform reporting and dash boarding
. Advanced statistical analysis and predictive modelling
. Experience or certification in enterprise and/or business architecture and good understanding of enterprise capability & business process mapping, data flows modeling
. Experience in application integration projects using messaging or ETL tools and data transformations (XSLT mapping or equivalent, business and technical adapters), data and web services
. Experience in knowledge graphs manipulation (especially semantic Web technologies, RDF and triple stores) and related back-end, enrichment and visualization tools
. Potential experience in user requirements gathering, knowledge elicitation, elaboration of glossaries, taxonomies or ontologies
. Analyze multidimensional datasets and drives business processes updates to be performed and lead the respective change initiatives
. Drive cross divisional alignment in his/her domain of expertise to ensure a lean Client wide information model enabling executive data driven decision making on a corporate level
. Provide expert guidance on business process and system design to support data governance and information modelling objectives
. Maintain documentation and act as an expert on data definitions, data flows, legacy data structures, access rights models, etc. for assigned domain
. Manage and maintains data modeling methodology already established within Data Governance team
. Evolution of existing canonical data model as outcome of change request and project activities
. Drive harmonization of master and reference data standards for objects where lifecycle management is not yet established
. Manage and evolve current data quality management practice
. Manage and evolve current data integration standards policies and procedures
. Manage maintenance of data lineage and support root cause analysis and impact assessment on data related topics
. Maintain methodology to link process-data-system-role elements within singe semantical model
. Define and maintain KPIs on data governance products and services:
. Exercise clear and informed decision-making using a process transparent to stakeholders for data related investment and creation of Data Governance, Quality and Standards for all functions. Keeping in touch with every stakeholder regularly. Facilitating meetings for the senior stakeholders & teams (preparing, moderation and post processing)
. Help review project deliverables & plans, monitor project progress, drive enterprise adoption, communicate policies and standards, approval of standards and definitions
Skills:
. Clear, compliant and transparent data standards, governance and quality/issue tracking metrics
. Timely, proactive resolution of data governance issues and anticipation of future business requirements for operational data architecture.
. Well-established master data architecture, designed for timely access by business and technology systems as required, and consistency established through "one-touch" principles.
. Superior data governance framework and master data management for operational data
. Adhere to Client standards, in particular quality, ethical, health, safety and information security (ISEC) standards
. Data quality metrics & KPIs
. Effectiveness of monitoring, tracking, control and visibility of data integrity
. Promotion and adoption of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Integratable, Re-usable) data principles within the domain of expertise
Education:
. Advanced degree in science, engineering, business or mathematics/statistics preferred
. Fluent English (oral and written)
. 5-7+ years of pharmaceutical industry or information services industry experience, with previous experience in either drug development or project management, in the Pharmaceutical, CRO or Technology Services industry
. Proven experience in data management, data governance or corresponding data initiatives, Strategic Management, Change Management and Project Management
. Extended knowledge of the drug development process especially in the field of Project & Portfolio management, Clinical Trial Operations, Patient Safety, Clinical Data management and analytics, Regulatory affairs
. Extensive modelling experience with standard modelling tools (SPARX EA, Visio...)
. Basic programming skills is a must
. Familiar with knowledge graph and semantic web technologies.
. Good communication skills especially using social media in enterprise
. Familiar with knowledge graph and semantic web technologies
. Good knowledge of cross-industry data standards
. Demonstrated strong attention to detail, quality, time management and customer focus.
. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
