CREO CAD Design Engineer

Job Description:

• Design of major components or major portions of a functional system for the Space and Airborne industry.
• Utilizes CAD equipment (PTC Creo) to create components, assemblies and drawings to industry standards.
• Manage and control mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Investigates and makes decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of mechanical design.
• Works under moderate supervision to achieve desired results.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret program processes, practices, and procedures.
• Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
• Preferred additional skills:
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric (Creo2 or higher)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques
• Knowledge of applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices), and its application techniques.
• Previous experience in supporting the design of ground structures, mechanisms, electronic packaging, and/or composite structures.
