Under the general supervision of the Program Support Supervisor, this position is responsible for evaluating a wide variety of educational credentials for academic programs at Shoreline Community College, including complex credentials evaluations such as veteran student prior credits, degree audit, degree and high school completions.  In addition, this position applies department knowledge to provide consultation to faculty, advisors, students and the campus community regarding processes and procedures unique to Enrollment and Financial Aid Services and the Degree Audit Module.
 
Essential Job Duties:

  • Evaluates incoming international credit, as well credit earned at Shoreline, using research and professional judgment in the determination of transferability of incoming credit and/or eligibility for graduation. 
  • Post evaluations and degrees (including high school diploma conferrals), notify graduates and potential graduates, prepare quarterly diploma lists and related duties.  
  • Meet with students regarding graduation requirements, discuss options; advise faculty, advisors, other institutions, and the community on matters regarding credit evaluation, graduation, academic programs, and transferability and/or equivalency of college-level courses.  
  • Reviews, evaluates, determines and enters the equivalency of transferable credit from domestic incoming student transcripts into the student database (SMS) including complex evaluations for veteran and/or international student prior credits. 
  • Manage and monitor progress of changes as they are implemented; provide information and technical assistance to staff and the campus community, recommend alternate course of action as necessary.
  • Independently explore, plan, and organize creative and innovative means of improving and streamlining specialized work processes related to application, enrollment, record, transcript evaluation, and financial aid.
  • Process enrollment verifications for National Student Clearinghouse, educational institutions, housing, and employment opportunities by hardcopy, fax, telephone and in person.
  • Provide direct service to students at the front desk, via email and by phone.
  • Assist co-workers, direct hourly and work study students as necessary, other duties as assigned
