Red Stick Adventures is hiring qualified Part-Time contract tour guides in the Baton Rouge area!
Our immediate need is for 4 hour tours -schedules are usually 8:30AM-12:30 pm, weekdays 1:30pm-5pm weekdays, Saturdays 8:30am-1pm and Sundays 7:45am-12pm, or Sunday afternoons 12-5PM, depending on the tour(s) you are scheduled to do.
You don’t have to have a background in tourism to do this job but you should be able to do the following:
You must be able to memorize a good deal of information or learn the “stories” we are trying to convey. You must be able to make a “script” sound like natural speech by learning the info and telling the “story” no to large groups and be comfortable speaking in front of large groups. You must be able to recognize landmarks and be able to get in and out of a motor coach (bus) multiple times when working. Due to client stipulations, you must be able to maintain a “conservative look” while working (removal of facial piercings, no visible tattoos, have natural hair color)
Paid training. Competitive per tour pay will only be discussed with qualified candidates after interview, but pay is generous for this position in this industry.
