Cold Heading Supervisor

 

Reports to: Plant Manager

Classification: Hourly Division: Manufacturing

Shift: Day


JOB SUMMARY:
A Cold Heading Supervisor manages the operation and production output of cold heading machines, ensuring quality standards and production schedules are met. Key responsibilities include machine setup, monitoring production metrics, maintaining records, tooling, and recruiting and retaining capable team members.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Apply the use of cold forming principles
  • Ability read and understand drawings, manage lot-control
  • Spec and Setup tools on 2D2B and 1D2B machines and run defect free un-interrupted production
  • Operate various hand tools including, lathe, mill, grinders, tool presses, and wrenches
  • Follow 6-S principles
  • Check parts for defects and well as to perform CAQ on parts
  • Ability to understand and measure parts using appropriate measuring tools
  • Ability to use and analyze micrometers, calipers and all other measuring devices
  • Oil Changes
  • Create job and tool cards.
  • Perform tool changes, tear down and clean up of machines

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Always work in a safe manner, understanding safety and quality are priority
  • Fill out any required paperwork.
  • Welding / Tooling / Thread Rolling
  • Use of computer systems
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mathematics skills to include the use of decimals and fractions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Equivalent 7+ years of cold heading fastener manufacturing experience

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:

  • Noise – Laboratory machines.
  • Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
  • Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
  • Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.
  • Responsible for complying with regulations and standards covered under MIOSHA as well as not damaging, moving, interfering or remove any safety related item that is provided.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Training to be completed annually
  • Refer to training matrix
