Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
To provide clinical support for the medical practitioners. The Clinical Assistant assists the practitioner in the performance of medical procedures, conducts follow up with patients on lab and test results, and screens patient calls as needed, performs phlebotomy work, and manages the patient record. Acts as liaison between patient, hospital, other providers, and the practitioners.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
CLINICAL ASSISTANT requirement(s): High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program. Must have 2 years of clinical experience.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT requirement(s): High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program. If not nationally certified (AMT, RMA, NCMA or CCMA) then must obtain Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) within 6 months of hire.
LPN Requirements: Active State of Maine LPN License.
Other Skills Required:
Medical Office work, preferably working directly with patient care. Immunization administration, vision and hearing screening, ECGs, ability to obtain accurate vital signs and patient histories. Must be computer literate, preferably in use of an EMR.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current medical certificates such as Phlebotomy, CNA, LPN, Medical Assistant, EMT or RN
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a medical, health, or fitness related field
• Prior experience using Cholestech LDX machine and other screening equipment
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Bilingual in Spanish/English

Pay Rate:

We start our Biometric Screeners at $18 per hour.
