We are hiring for immediate placement an EXPERIENCED AIRFIELD CIVIL CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER to work at one of our sites in FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA and within the South and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the US for AIRFIELD PAVING ON MILITARY BASES. BOTTOM LINE REQUIREMENTS
POSITION: Civil Quality Control Manager with Airfield Paving Experience
LOCATION: Fayetteville, North Carolina (and within the South and Mid-Atlantic regions)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend pre-construction meetings as required to determine the owner’s expectations for QC management.
Participate in development of Project Quality Control ad Testing Plan
Determine QC tests, inspections, and meetings required before the start of each scope of work. Effectively anticipate and manage the inspection of subcontractors’ material and installation requirements as required to maintain the schedule.
Ensure timely documentation of all QC requirements.
Maintain an organized submittal filing system.
Create and maintain an accurate and effective testing log.
Have a complete knowledge and understanding of all the plans, specifications, addendums, supplemental drawings, and shop drawings.
Routinely check self-performed work and subcontractor’s work for quality and specification compliance.
Coordinate daily with project Superintendent for all testing and inspections.
Effectively manage third party testing personnel in accordance with Project Specifications and third party testing agreement.
Execute the three phases of control; preparatory, initial, and follow-up.
Accurately report all subcontractors on site, QC inspections, tests, man-hours, and equipment hours in the Contractor’s Daily Quality Control Report.
Follow QC documentation requirements set out in the project specifications, preconstruction meeting, and project QC and testing plan.
Take weekly job documentation photos and other photos as necessary.
Read, know, understand, and execute the project CQC Plan.
Upon delivery, inspect all materials supplied to the job to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and approved submittals. Immediately communicate any deficiency to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
Attend the subcontractor’s weekly coordination meeting and owner coordination meeting prepared to address all QC requirements.
Coordinate with Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure that all as- built documentation is accurately recorded both electronically and in the red-line as-built drawing set prior to each month’s pay request.
Inspect and maintain quality workmanship built per industry standards and contract documents. Prepare ongoing, weekly, and final punch-list with Superintendent and complete all items.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
4 year degree in Construction Management or like equivalent (civil or mechanical engineering degree).
Minimum of 5 years AIRFIELD CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE and a minimum of 1 year experience as a CQC System Manager on an AIRFIELD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.
Must possess a current QC Certification by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) having completed the course entitled “Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors.
Must possess an OSHA 10 hour certification.
OSHA 30 hour certification is strongly preferred but not required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Military Base and Commercial Airfield AOA Security access
Previous experience on USACE and/or NAVFAC projects as Quality Control Manager is highly preferred.
Experience with USACE QCS is highly preferred.
ACI Certifications are a plus.
