JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
Being a member of the IT Business Unit, Mainframe Software Engineer will be responsible for Develop, maintain, continuously improve and support CICS infrastructure within the ownership of the Transactional Technologies systems.
Provide expert infrastructure oversight, ensuring successful delivery and performance of IT services for our clients and the fulfilment of our obligations and Service Levels Targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Installation, customization, and administration of CICS/Transaction Server on IBM z/OS
Define and modify CICS parameters, CICS RDO definitions, and CICS Tables.
Learn and master critical proprietary business systems built on CICS
Assist with testing, implementation, and installation of CICS and associated software.
Diagnose and resolve CICS environment system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs, and other available logs and documents.
Ability to deliver multiple concurrent agile projects/tasks on time and a focus on quality
Participate in weekend DR tests
Participate in an on-call rotation
Follow a detailed ITIL-based process
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
6+ years in a z/OS Environment with at least 4 years in CICS Administrator/Developer Role
Understanding of z/OS components such as JCL, SCHEDULE, RACF, JES2, SMP/e, Virtual Memory
Experience in Abendaid, TMON, CICSPLEX, CAFC, CTG or similar tools
Understanding of CICS Internals, CICS Tables, CICS Resources, CICS Datasets, CICS-RACF interface
Experience in COBOL, REXX or Assembler to develop/maintain/improve in-house programs and utilities
Knowledge of on-line programming using CICS and MQ
Knowledge of RACF to maintain CICS environments in compliance with the security guidelines
