Job Description:

• Under general supervision performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPC, and ICD-9 coding of inpatient, outpatient, and global package delivery services received from physicians via Epic Charge Review and Epic Surigcal Case tool related to OB, GYN, and GYN Surgical Oncology services.
• Accurately abstract, CPT HCPCS, ICD9, ICD10, and Modifiers as appropriate per clinical documentation.
• Queries and provides feedback to providers and other clinical department personnel. Performs other related functions as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification, CCS, RHIT or RHIA. Strong Skills in CPT, ICD-9 & HCPC Coding Applications 3+ years experience in OB, GYN, and GYN Surgical Oncology Services.
• High School or General Education Diploma **WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT MEET ALL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS.**

Preferred Qualifications:

• Epic Experience 3M Experience Specialty Certification in Obstetrics Gynecology - COBGC Experience coding/billing Medi-Cal

Compliance Requirements:

• Candidate will be expected to complete typical compliance for Remote Workers for health care systems upon hire (including updated physical, background check, drug screen, etc.) in order to meet UC San Diego Health HR and Joint Commission standards.
