CCWS Clinician

Job Description

The Clinician (FTE .80) will participate in daily screening activities at assigned school sites and work closely with the District Coordinator and Program Manager. The Clinician will work the school calendar (9 months at 40 hours/week with unpaid summer off). The Clinician will be responsible for screening and interviewing students with potential mental health concerns. The Clinician must effectively communicate with students, families, and school staff. Flexibility and ability to travel within school systems is required.

· Partner with school district, District Coordinator, and/ or Program Manager to coordinate mental wellness screening at assigned school sites

· Obtain student/ guardian data, parent opt-out forms, and screening rosters to ensure accurate screening records

· Administer mental wellness screen with students at assigned school sites

· Triage screening results and create follow up interview schedule

· Conduct a follow up interview with students who have scored positive on the mental wellness screen or who have requested contact with the Clinician

· Conduct a follow up interview with the parent/ guardian to understand the student/ family, share results of the mental wellness screen, and provide resources.

· Contribute knowledge and expertise to newsletter and marketing opportunities

· Provide presentations to students, parents/ guardians, and school staff as assigned

· Participate in committees or groups within the school site, school district, program, and organization as assigned

· Attend school site/ district crisis protocol meetings to support school site during times of crisis, if needed

· Assist in data collection and management

· Ability to remain calm during times of crisis, and follow proper protocol for urgent evaluations

Required Qualifications

· Master’s degree or higher-level mental health clinician or master’s level student currently enrolled in a clinical mental health program.

· Minimum of 3 years work experience in a mental health setting

· Minimum of 1 year experience providing case management

· Independent experience assessing youth for symptoms of mental illness/emotional health concerns and suicide risk is required.

· Experience using DSM-5 (or most current version) a criterion for assessing youth is required.

Recommended

· Licensed mental health practitioners (e.g., clinical social worker, licensed mental health provider/therapist, clinical psychologist, and child psychiatrist) with a minimum of two years post-graduate work experience in mental health assessment of youth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
