Career Planning Specialist

Opportunities Inc. is looking for a motivated individual to join the Worksmart Program as a Career Planning Specialist. This person would work at the Jefferson County Workforce Development Center and provide job seeking assistance to individuals in need of assistance.

The Career Services Specialist provides individual career assessments, assistance with the development of employment plans, development of Work Experiences and On-the-Job training and internship opportunities for program customers. Responsible for providing support to customers in determining their short and long-term career goals and then assists in establishing a plan that equally reflects the customer’s personal and professional goals. The Career Services Specialist works as part of the network team, as well as part of a regional sub-team to ensure a consistent message and service delivery across the region. Performs all duties in conformance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations and guidelines governing equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination in the workplace.
