Camp Supernow Counselor

THE ROLE

As a Super Counselor at Here/Now, you’ll be joining our small but mighty crew of experience designers, social alchemists, innovators, vibe creators and facilitators - dedicated to bringing magic and connection to kids everywhere.

As a Super Counselor, you’ll be part of our founding team and working directly with the Supernow founders to facilitate magical experiences that bring kids together. Super Counselors are the face of Camp Supernow - this is a highly visible role and an opportunity to become part of a community of best in class gatherers, human connection and experience design experts. This is a part-time, contract role, that requires you to be available at the same time each day for a week, for each cabin you lead. 

This role is perfect for someone who:

• Has prior experience as a camp counselor, childcare professional, educator, babysitter, or tutor (ideally with kids ages 5-11)

• Is a natural performer and ideally has experience facilitating

• Is passionate about children’s education, hands on learning, STEM 

• Is comfortable speaking/performing in front of an audience (of both kids and parents)

• Believes that human connection is the next self care and wants to help spread love and connection during a time of separation

• Is in touch with their inner child - embraces play, adventure, fun and silliness

You should be great with kids, be able to think and improvise on the fly, have a consumer centric mindset, high EQ and an intuition around how to accomodate people and make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Camp Facilitation

• Serving as the face for each of your assigned cabins

• Lead camp each day based on the HQ provided script, improving as necessary

• Facilitate the daily camp sessions via Zoom

• Providing programming suggestions and feedback to HQ

Camp Promotion

• Marketing Camp Supernow externally on your channels

• Recruiting campers to build your own cabins for a cash bonus

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous acting, performance or facilitation experience

• Previous professional experience with kids (eg.camp counselor, educator, babysitter, nanny, etc.)

• Ability to attend all assigned camp sessions (same time each day for a week- minimum of 5 hours per week)

• Professional and timely, must be able to meet deadlines and arrive on time to events - no-shows will not be tolerated

• Fast learner and self starter with the ability to navigate ambiguity and act autonomously

• Vibe creator - attentive to the little details to make a virtual gathering awesome

• Passionate about human connection, self-expression and play

• Intellectual curiosity - genuinely curious about the world, human behavior and self-improvement

WHO WE ARE

Hey Friend! We’re Camp Supernow. We’re a virtual summer camp for kids ages 5-11. We exist because in this time of physical distance, kids still need to expand their imaginations, spark their creativity and stay connected to friends. And parents could use a little time for themselves too.

So we launched a program that meets solely online, as a way to bring the magic of summer camp to kids everywhere. We believe that technology should be used to enhance our IRL relationships (not replace them) and that interactive together time will always trump passive screen time. We believe in developing balanced kids - our curriculum incorporates movement, creativity and self expression, learning and investigation, communication and mindfulness and gratitude. 

We’re building for a future where physical separation doesn’t mean social isolation. We’re excited for you to join us on the journey.
