Behavioral Specialist Consultant/Mobile Therapist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Southwestern Human Services is currently hiring Part-Time and Full-Time Behavioral Specialist Consultant and Mobile Therapist positions. We are seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals to work with children and adolescents with Autism and/or a Behavioral Health diagnosis. Our clients are located throughout Allegheny County, and services are provided in the child’s home, school, or community.
 

The Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) serves as the lead clinician on the child’s treatment team. The BSC works in collaboration with other members of the treatment team to design and direct implementation of the behavioral treatment plan. Treatment plans are individualized to each child and are used by all members of the treatment team to help guide the course of treatment. The BSC identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques, recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods, and models interventions for the Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) and parents/caregivers. The BSC primarily provides assessment, such as program design and monitoring, rather than direct therapy. Services are intended to implement specific interventions to stabilize the client, provide support to the family, and promote age-appropriate behaviors
 

The Mobile Therapist (MT) provides intensive therapeutic services to a child and family in settings other than an agency office. The primary setting for services is in the child’s home; however, services can also be held in the school or community settings, as appropriate. The MT provides one-to-one therapy to a child or adolescent. Therapy sessions may incorporate other family members or individuals directly involved with the client, as long as the client is kept at the center of treatment. Services provided by a mobile therapist vary according to the individualized needs of the child and family.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Special Education, or related mental health field, required
• Behavioral Specialist License (BSL), LPC, LSW, or LCSW, strongly preferred
• Previous BHRS experience, preferred
• Experience writing treatment plans, preferred
• Valid Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and Vehicle Registration, required
• Recently updated Act 33, Act 34, and FBI Clearance, required
• At least 1 year of experience in either a CASSP service system or employed by a licensed mental health agency

In addition to Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS), we offer Outpatient Psychiatric Services to children, adolescents, adults, and families including outpatient therapy, medication management, and social skills groups.
