An AWS Data Architect is responsible for designing, developing and implementing data solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The key responsibilities for this role typically include:
Designing and implementing data solutions using AWS technologies, such as Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon RDS, Amazon Glue and Amazon EMR.
Migrating existing data solutions to the AWS cloud platform.
Ensuring high data availability, reliability, scalability, and performance for data solutions on AWS.
Implementing security and compliance controls for data solutions on AWS, including access control, encryption, and monitoring.
Collaborating with other teams and departments to understand their data needs and design solutions that meet their requirements.
Defining and maintaining data architecture and governance standards on AWS.
Providing technical guidance and support to other teams for data solutions on AWS.
Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in data architecture and AWS.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong technical background, extensive experience in data architecture and AWS, and excellent communication skills. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is typically required, along with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Big Data.
