GLASS & GLAZING AUT0CAD DESIGNER
Client is an industry leader in building component engineering design, is seeking a specialty CAD designer to assist with projects in their Glass & Glazing Department.  They do not have to have a degree, but Associates would be good.  THEY MUCH HAVE GLASS & GLAZING exp.  But they will look at 2 or 3 plus years exp. They like articulate people with a sense of urgency.  They are living in Florida but are from New York and have the New York, keep rolling, get it done mentality.

POSITION SUMMARY
You will be working with talented engineers and designers to provide support by preparing building layouts, detailed shop drawings, assembly drawings, sketches & diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for utilization. You’ll curate information regarding product approvals, make simple decisions and refer more challenging issues to Engineers. You’ll assert a solid understanding of drafting techniques and be familiar with Engineering terminology. Asserts shall include mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Expert use of AutoCAD software required.
High school with Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting and math, and/or equivalent experience and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
·        Uses computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD or comparable) equipment and software to develop designs.
·        Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
·        Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another,        and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
·        Sketches rough layout of system and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.
·        Utilizes knowledge of various systems, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
·        Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of systems and products.
·        Draws finished designs from sketches.
·        Update Drafting and Engineering Standards.
·        Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings.
·        Responsible for converting existing production drawings to AutoCAD or comparable software.
·        Communicate with Client, Engineering, and Management regarding new and/or revised prints.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Works closely with engineers/project managers.
