JOB DUTIES

Ensure all personnel at the facilities are in possession of and display an approved building access badge and that unauthorized personnel are not permitted on grounds and in facilities at any time. Individuals not displaying the proper building access badge shall be screened for approval for building entry, follow sign-in procedures, and issued an approved visitor badge.

Assume responsibility for the building access badges and shall immediately contact the designated the representative when a building access badge has been lost or damaged.

Contact appropriate the personnel when incoming mail, fax, or carrier delivery is received at the security guard post and not accept it on behalf of the division personnel. The personnel will be responsible for receipt of such material.

Randomly check all boxes and containers taken out of the building to ensure state property is not removed by unauthorized personnel.

Conduct basic health screening at Houston Headquarters designated entry points e.g., temperature check

Security Guard conducting temperature checks will wear disposable gloves and face covers/mask.

Complete Shift Activity Reports. The submitted information shall be correct and convey complete and accurate information.

Be alert to surrounding area of responsibility at all times.

Not depart assigned duty area(s) until properly relieved. Under no circumstances shall any assigned duty area be left abandoned.

Ensure doors and gates are locked and unlocked as requested by facility manager.

Report any maintenance problems or hazardous conditions to building facility manager.

Monitor CCTV to exterior doors, building perimeters and sensitive building areas, acknowledge and resolve all alarms, monitor badge activities, monitor and verify access, and provide momentary door unlocks and access to card-reader doors and vehicle gates.

Provide interface during critical and non-critical emergency events from report to resolution in addition to constant information updates wherever applicable in an effort to ensure situation, events, incidents are resolved in an appropriate manner.

Guide and assist all personnel, as well as visitors, clients during emergency and non-emergency situations

Be fluent in English with the ability to receive, give and understand written and oral instructions.

Not be excessively loud or use personal multi-media devices while performing in proximity to or at stations.

Not report to work smelling of alcohol, acting under the influence, acting unprofessionally, or out of uniform.

Not use equipment for personal use. Use of property for personal use is grounds for removal of personnel from the contract.

Remain awake and alert during the duration of their shift.

Maintain respect and courtesy for employees, contractors, and visitors, and a high level of professionalism and a business-like demeanor at all times.

Use proper business telephone etiquette and two-way radio etiquette when working dedicated vehicle patrol service.

Security Guards may:

Be required to wear a face covering or mask and gloves.

Be subject to a basic health screening (e.g., temperature check) deemed necessary by the facility for employee safety.

REQUIREMENTS

Level 111 Texas Security Guard License

Clean background check with no moving violations

Authorize to work in the USA
