There has never been a more exciting time to become a trained stitcher!
The Sewing Labs is seeking external candidates to enroll in our exclusive Sewing Salon Training Program. Being selected to participate in the Sewing Salon Training Program equips our graduates with the tools they need to obtain a registered apprenticeship allowing them to become professional certified Industrial Sewing Machine Operators. Interviews are taking place now, with training beginning on January 13, 2025. The training portion of the program requires a nine hour commitment each week, allowing our trainees flexibility as they learn this new, in-demand skill.
Submitting an application for this particular posting does not mean that you are applying for an immediate paid position. Rather, submitting an application for this posting means you are committing to a workforce training program that includes 30 weeks of training with no cost tuition (A $5,000 value) followed by 2,000 hours as a paid apprentice with one of the numerous employers seeking to hire trained stitchers in the greater Kansas City region.
What Is An Apprenticeship?
As with all US Department of Labor registered apprenticeship training programs, the Apprentice will enroll in and complete the required classroom training curriculum. The course work will require up to 270 hours of related technical instruction in a classroom setting and approximately 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job training with a partner employer. An Apprenticeship allows our graduates a unique opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to become well-compensated, in-demand Industrial Sewing Machine Operators.
