Analyst General/Engineering

Bill of Material at client is rapidly transforming by leveraging advances in analytics. The growth in analytics solutions has created opportunities for expanding the existing team in support of optimizing the way we redefine our business. Analytics Scientist will interact w/ functions who are leading CAD, BoM, Prototype, Change Management, and Module development.
 

The position of Analytics Scientist will perform the following duties:

*Lead the project through all the stages of product delivery - Problem Formulation, Data Management, Solution Development, Solution Deployment and Ongoing Management.

*Work with available Engineering data sources by leveraging BoM, CAD and PLM tools and technologies to develop robust models, process improvements, dashboards, and reports based on approved use cases to provide actionable insights.

*Enable real-time decision-making, and improve efficiency through effectiveness of operations.

*Identify and leverage key master data for improved integrity of reporting.

*Interact with internal customers of proposed solutions to ensure that project delivers align with business benefits.

*Analytics Scientist are a change agent to convince users to modify their business processes.

*Continuously improve data science skills by leveraging available learning and development opportunities both within and outside of Ford such as boot camps, MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), conferences, knowledge shares etc.

Skills Required:

*2+ years of working experience using one or more of the following: machine learning, regression, natural language processing, control charting, linear or mixed integer optimization

*2+ years of working experience using open source data, science technologies such as Python, R, Spark, SQL, Hadoop, etc. acquired through college course work, online training and certification or project development

*Expertise in commercial tools such as Alteryx, Qlikview, and implementation on projects

Skills Preferred:

*Expert level understanding of machine learning, regression, image processing, natural language processing, control charting, linear or mixed integer optimization

*Expertise in open source data science technologies, including Python, R, Spark, SQL, Hadoop, etc. acquired through college course work, online training and certification or project development

*Demonstrated expertise in commercial tools such as Alteryx, Qlikview, and implementation on projects

*Demonstrated expertise in the use of data and statistics to solve business problems within the framework of methodologies such as 6-Sigma

*Experience in Bill of Material, production, maintenance, quality, or manufacturing IT.

Education Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related quantitative field with an emphasis on Data Science.
 

Education Preferred:

*Masters or Doctorate preferred in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related quantitative field with an emphasis on Data Science.
