Job Description:

Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus is now accepting applications for Wellness Program Manager. The Wellness Program Manager is responsible for the coordination, planning, organizing, implementation, evaluation, and administration of all components of the employee wellness programs for Miami Dade College employees. This position serves as a role model for healthy behavior and an advocate for change.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements programs to improve the health and well-being of Miami Dade College employees
  • Promotes wellness programming through employee communications, incentive campaigns, and other activities to generate employee participation which includes but not limited to electronic promotion of the Wellness Program, wellness activities, and healthy lifestyle choices college-wide
  • Works with HRIS to maintain an up to date wellness program web page
  • Maintains and monitors wellness annual budget
  • Develops program materials, training, and guidance for use by employees college-wide
  • Works with vendors and College’s legal department on the development and completion of program contracts and agreements
  • Monitors and evaluates program participation which includes receiving employee feedback by developing, implementing, and summarizing employee evaluation surveys of the program or worksite wellness interest
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures relevant to the operation of the College’s employee wellness program
  • Acts as Liaison with College Wellness Centers and outside providers to develop, implement, and manage wellness programs
  • Develops creative and unique strategies to integrate wellness initiatives into the overall culture of the College
  • Represents College at Wellness Summits and Forums
  • Provides Human Resources management with monthly reporting on program status, progress, and participation
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health promotion/management, human resource management, business, public administration, or related field and one (1) year of experience in health and wellness programs and promotions; or Bachelor’s degree in health promotion/management, human resource management, business, public administration, or related field and five (5) years of experience in health and wellness programs and promotions
  • Background in public health or health education
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of health care plans and health reimbursement accounts
  • A strong personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle
  • Creative in program development and implementation
  • Strong attention to detail and highly developed organizational skills
  • Knowledge of health and wellness programming as defined through National Health Coaching and Health Promotion standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with other departments
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to develop and conduct training seminars and make presentations.
  • Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraints
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
