SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, energetic CPA and communications superstar who enjoys using his/her strong accounting knowledge, experience and business acumen to position solutions and services to prospective clients who are looking for outsourced accounting solutions. This role is responsible for conducting potential client financial reviews brought in by the Business Development Team to determine if there is a mutually beneficial fit for both the potential client and AccountingDepartment.com.  Once the initial stage is deemed satisfactory, the  Proposal Manager oversees the detailed proposal preparation and budget estimation for the prospective clients, while carefully considering all individualized factors and pain points in order to meet their specific outsourced accounting services needs. The individual is responsible for executing the delivery of the proposal presentation and demonstrating why Accounting Department.com is the outsourced accounting solution of choice to the prospective clients. The end goal to this multi step approach is ultimately assisting the Business Development Team with closing the deals and is critical to achieving the company’s aggressive company growth plans. 

The Proposal Manager plays a key role in the AccountingDepartment.com’s sales process by working collaboratively with the Business Development Team, Implementation Team and Proposal Analyst to understand the client’s business requirements, defining the scope, delivering the proposal presentations and helping answer any business and technical questions the prospect, current client or internal team member may have throughout the process. The right individual will hold a CPA and utilize broad based accounting experience to demonstrate expertise in order to facilitate the closing of proposals. Additionally, the ideal individual will have proven experience in the use of technology to increase work flow efficiencies and reduce proposal costs in the accounting services industry. 

After an in-depth onboarding process, the Proposal Manager will have a keen ability to clearly articulate the benefits of the AccountingDepartment.com products and service solutions portfolio to various potential clients and existing clients. Within a 100% virtual environment, frequent daily meetings are held via webcam and thus, the individual should be comfortable in this type of setting. The candidate must possess the ability to speak and present intelligently to clients, while tailoring the presentation to their varying depths of understanding. Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively prioritize and quickly shift gears is a must. 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and facilitate sales discussions in multiple internal and external meetings, including financial reviews and proposal reviews to finalize the detailed requirements and design on client proposals
  • Conduct in-depth analysis into prospective client’s business and current accounting practices to determine if they are a fit. Once it’s established that the potential client would be a fit, establish budget and scope of proposal development.  
  • In conjunction with the Proposal Analyst, generate and manage proposals for potential clients and revisions for established clients when scaling with their changing business needs. Ensure potential grey areas are minimized within the client agreements. Link client’s business processes with AccountingDepartment.com’s tailored service solutions to create efficiencies in current practices, while also meeting unique business needs and pitching AccountingDepartment.com’s distinctive value add.
  • Skillfully lead presentations and interact with prospective clients via webcam- showcase high energy, enthusiasm and positivity when presenting AccountingDepartment.com’s compelling solutions to meet their business needs and ultimately solidify their interest to close the deal. Communicate in-depth knowledge in AccountingDepartment.com’s specific service suite, operating environment and technologies to educate clients on AccountingDepartment.com’s vast services.
  • Assist with reevaluating current clients’ agreements at the request of the Implementation or Controller Teams when scope of services change.
  • Ability to work outside normal hours as needed to meet objectives, if necessary
  • Some travel for training and team meetings is required

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on-experience estimating project proposals  and delivering solutions related to accounting practices
  • A minimum of 7 years progressive general accounting experience 
  • A minimum of 3 years in public accounting
  • Experience with SMB in the $0-$40m annual revenue range
  • Proven experience in a pre or post-sales capacity in an Accounting Services environment, with a track record of deal closings
  • Ability to translate business requirements into a comprehensive, well-formed client agreements using a system developed by the company
  • Strong understanding of business acumen and accounting intricacies, of all that’s proposed.  Keen attention to detail and foresight to ensure all potential grey areas are eliminated out of the client agreement to avoid any future variation in expectations between client and AccountingDepartment.com.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects using outstanding organizational skills.  Flexible; able to shift priorities easily without advanced notice.
  • Confidently present complex information to a variety of audiences.  Ability to tailor delivery based on audience’s experience level and skillset, while demonstrating patience.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and tight timelines, processing information quickly and accurately while still focusing on details
  • Strong emphasis on customer service
  • Proven judgment and decision-making skills. Out of the box thinker.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Comfortable working with many different personality types
  • Team oriented individual who enjoys collaborating with others

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Certified Public Accountant - must be current
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
