Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (with a major in Instructional Design or Learning Technology or similar area)
• Minimum of one - three years of insurance experience is preferred.
• Minimum of one - three years of experience in instructional design/eLearning development/delivery required.  Instructional design is the focus of this position.
• Solid understanding of e-Learning methodologies, video development, LMS management (SCORM, AICC), and current practices
• Experience integrating LMS technology with enterprise applications and business data is preferred
• Experience with Adobe suite (Storyline, Captivate, Articulate, Presenter, Photoshop, Flash, etc.), Authorware, Lectora, Macromedia Dreamweaver, HTML, and/or other authoring/graphic design/web design software is required.
• Authoring/coding alternatives and learning management systems experience required.
• Prior LMS administration experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of training and organizational development theories, instructional design models, such as ADDIE, required.
• Ability to understand, analyze and arrange data and metrics into concise and meaningful reports.
• Capable of learning the data, presenting a story from the data, analyze, optimize, strategize, and execute efficiencies
• Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong and engaging classroom communication skills and instructional style.
• Project management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be detail oriented, flexible, and resourceful.
• Must be creative with the ability to come up with new/unique ideas and add value in brainstorming sessions.
• Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty with the ability to decide and act without having the total picture.
• Strong consulting skills working with all levels and dedicated to a strong customer experience are required.
• Experience in a professional work environment, experience within Insurance is VERY helpful but not required
• Experience developing and designing facilitator and participant guides
• eLearning is a BIG bonus
• Classroom instructor led learning and development, not solely eLearning
• Must be able to work initially from home and then work in the client office in Columbus, OH starting in January 2021.

Job Description:

We are hiring a Training Delivery Specialist who will work on two primary programs. One will require you to develop and design new documentation and training materials using, building on, and enhancing existing shells and templates. The other will include existing templates and shells, but you will update and organize the release of existing documentation and training for our client’s Commercial Lines insurance organization.  You will use ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) principles. You will work for DTS as a direct, full-time W2 salaried or hourly employee for our client, and initially, you will work remotely.  You will also:

• Identify and respond to learning needs across our client’s enterprise.
• Create program guidelines, training outlines, and course materials.
• Conduct classes for end users and deliver train-the-trainer sessions.
• Design evaluation tools and review effectiveness of training programs.
• Create user centric, innovative, and scalable content and solutions in a continuous and connected learning culture and environment.
• Assist with maintaining the LMS and work to improve process, data collection and streamline applications.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design theory to create effective learning content that may be deployed for blended learning solutions.
• Research, create, design, develop and deliver training and performance support in various formats.
• Create and build learning solutions at individual, business and enterprise level.
• Conduct needs assessments/analyses to identify and prioritize learning and recommend training solutions for performance related problems.
• Act as an internal consultant to business units and business unit training departments regarding virtual/e-learning practices, standards, solutions and technologies.
• Analyze business and systems changes to determine training solutions.
• Identify best instructional design techniques/modality with emphasis on applying digital/virtual-first approach.
• Serve as a learning design Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Create articles, quick reference guides (QRG), job aids, multimedia presentations, communications and promotion materials, infographics, e-learning, videos, microlearning, and more.
• Provide internal support on design best practice for training and presentation content.
• Administer and maintain internal company learning management system (create, load, and maintain eLearning courses)
• Assist management/leaders with LMS reporting.
• Support existing programs and workshops.
• Create learning materials utilizing graphic design skills for content and materials including, but not limited to: webpages, job aids, e-learning content, instructor-led materials, signage, posters, and communications.
• Develop strong business relationships with IT and data analytic resources.
• Assist Training Management team with all data and reporting needs.
• Participate in other key projects such as process design and performance management activities.
• Provide individual and business unit support
• Schedule courses and maintain training records.
• Engage in vendor management and internal communication of learning events.
• Evaluate effectiveness of training and modify programs as needed.
• Participate in the LMS Admin Committee. Work with LMS account manager as needed to problem solve and train others on the team.
• Assist with system maintenance and improve user experience.
• Stay current on training and digital/virtual technology trends and best practices.
• Provide quality assurance by collaborating with other members of the training team
• Plan and execute training related projects, provide input, and suggest new ideas.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
