Test Technician

SCOPE OF THE JOB:

As part of the production team, direct responsibility for testing customer products to established procedures, checklists, and documentation.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Testing of products in accordance with specifications, drawings, work instructions, and procedures.
• Generation of acceptance documents and product final test datasheets.
• Provide test support to NPI projects and programs.
• Maintain 6S practices across the manufacturing floor.
• Resolve issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identified.
• Initiate engineering change documentation to correct inaccuracies when discovered
• Support product configuration and engineering change processes.
• Other duties as assigned

SPECIALIST FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

• Test equipment, instrumentation, tools
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices so issues can be highlighted and managed by the appropriate personnel.
• Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continual Improvement strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or military training or equivalent experience.

Ability to work independently.

EXPERIENCE

3+ years’ experience in a Test Technician role validating Photonics devices

Experience in Photonics and it applications, specifically fibre optics preferred

Experience in Six Sigma and Lean Principles in volume manufacturing preferred.
