This position is a full-time position and will be based out of USA
Objective
To continue IKOS’s growth and strengthen our team in the United States, we are recruiting a System Safety Engineer in USA with relevant experience in the railway sector keen to work on large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
- Implementing the CENELEC Standards EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 as guidelines for RAM and Safety Assessment
- Appling MIL-STD-882 and the AREMA Standards for RAM & Safety Assessment
- Demonstrating working knowledge of Item ToolKit or other equivalent tools for RAM and Safety Assessment
- Developing complex Safety Assurance techniques [PHAs, O&SHAs, FTAs, FMECAs, Hazard Logs, and Safety Cases] per the CENELEC Standards
- Development of complex RAM techniques [RAM Demonstration, RAM Analysis (Block Diagrams and Fault Trees), Spare Parts Calculations] per the CENELEC Standards
- Reading and interpreting electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics
Qualifications

- You must hold a Bachelor and/or Master's degree in Science or Engineering field
- You must have work authorization for the United States
- You have at least 1+ years of previous experience in the industry, (energy or transportation sectors are an asset).
- You are a team player and ready to learn quick
- You have good communications skills
- Self-driven, motivated and accountable for actions and efforts in regards to safety assessment (Required)
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Experienced with the terms MTBF, MTBSF, MTTR, Availability, MTBHE, SIL, Vital, and Mission Critical, FTA, dFMEA, pFMEA, PHA, IHA, SHA (Required)
- Familiar with MIL-STD-882 and the AREMA Standards for RAM & Safety Assessment (Required)
- Have a working knowledge of Item ToolKit or other equivalent tools for RAM and Safety Assessment
- Experience in implementing the CENELEC Standards EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 as guidelines for RAM and Safety Assessment (Preferred)
- Knowledge of railroad signaling concepts and a background in safety assessment of railroad applications and products (preferred)
