1Roles & Responsibilities

 

2. Perform database refreshes or clones as per approved processes and procedures

 

3. Perform logical data export and import requests as per the requirement

 

4. Create or clone copies of databases as requested

 

5. Create and maintain database links

 

6. Execute database reorganizations on a scheduled basis

 

7. Monitor and manage database space (add data files as needed)

 

8. Perform database storage management activities

 

9. Maintain database inventory

 

10. Manage database security and permissions as per security policies

 

11. Recommend and implement database tuning, operating system changes and database security as per best practices and policies

 

12. Maintain database user management

 

13. Configure and manage database audit profiles

 

14. Recommend, and perform database replication procedures

 

15. Provide support for disaster recovery management

 

16. Provide, maintain, patch, and configure support for database monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager and similar native tools for Sybase and MSSQL

 

17. Maintain and implement mutually agreed database archive processes and procedures

 

18. Comply with mutually agreed database backup and recovery procedures to recover from a database outage or corrupted database

 

19. Perform database restores or recovery from export dumps, logical or physical backups, etc.

 

20. Execute database creation, configuration, upgrades, and refresh

 

21. Execute all database system level changes (e.g., initialization parameters)

 

22. Execute all schema changes for all instances

 

23. Implement database data definition requirements for applications (e.g., IMAC for tables, triggers, attributes, stored procedures) and developer schemas

 

24. Maintain documentation for all database instance parameters and system settings

 

25. Perform database sizing activities and interface with third parties as required

 

26. Proactively identify, remediate and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., locking conflicts, latch contention, rollback
