Full-Time Supervisor of Speech and Language Services (Upper School)

 

Job Hours

Mon through Thurs 8:15 am-4:15 pm; Fri 8:15am – 3:00pm

 

Job Location

Manhattan, NY

 

Job Compensation

$90,000-$95,000 based on education, experience, and certifications.


Your Impact Here at MCC

  • Has a maximum of 8 students on caseload (from each age group: 12-15, 15-18, 18-21).
  • Provide direct (i.e., observation) supervision for at least 1 student per supervisee on a weekly basis.
  • Provide SLP’s with guidance on assessment and goal establishment
  • Mentor and guide the therapist through individual session implementation, dyads, and groups
  • Review and Edit Goals and Progress Reports
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, IEPs, DOE hearings, outside team meetings etc. with or in lieu of supervisee, if needed.
  • Provide coverage during lapse of services, when necessary.
  • Attend intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary meetings with supervisors and/or directors of other departments (e.g., occupational therapy, education etc.).
  • Assist the director of the department with department projects and presentations (e.g., parent trainings).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • NY State licensed Speech Therapist
  • ASHA certification
  • TSSLD
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MS, MA) in speech therapy or higher
  • At least 4 years of working experience at a comparable setting with at least 1 year of experience working as a supervisor 
  • Experience Mentoring and Supervising Certified/Licensed SLP’s and Graduate student clinicians
  • Proficient in a variety of evaluation and assessment tools used in pediatric practice
  • Proficient in using a variety of therapeutic approaches and SLP frames of references, such as DTTC/PROMPT, Social Thinking Curriculum, Aided Language Stimulation, core word approach etc.
