Title: Senior Job Captain 

 

Location Los Angeles County | Direct Perm Hire | Full Benefits | Firm Established over 25 years
 

The Senior Job Captain works side by side with the Project Management team a conduit to the production staff. 

The Sr. Job Captain works as architectural survey manager and supports all survey program efforts. The position requires management skills, production know-how.  Technical and code knowledge.
 

Responsibilities
  • Manage teams of Job Captains, QA people and surveyors to accomplish client program needs.
  • Work in conjunction with Project Manager to establish and meet scheduled deliverables.
  • Communicate schedule and status with the client when applicable.
  • Manages the creation of or creates client specific drawing templates utilizing AutoCAD and Revit
  • Issues contracts to Independent contractors.
  • Manage project/program reporting, both internal and client.
  • Maintain and implement client standards.
  • Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements.
  • Direct oversight and training of  job captains, draftsmen and surveyors.
  • Development and coordination of survey program schedules.
  • Coordination of surveyors in the field and client interface.
  • Responsible for communication and file exchanges with consultants.
  • Responsible for completion of deliverables, work in BIM as necessary.
  • Supervises assignments of individual projects and directs tasks for draftsmen, surveyors and permit expeditors.
  • Production of Survey Documents and other deliverables.
  • Provide technical training as required.

                 

Skills / Knowledge 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and ( experience or someone who can get up to speed quickly Revit )
  • Proven ability to produce survey documents and construction documents.
  • Strong project management skills, production knowledge and a sense of ownership and responsibility for all the products that are produced by the department.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.  

 

Experience / Education 
  • Technical Drafting Certification or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT (ok if still learning Revit)   
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in As-built Survey / Architectural Services. 
  • Draftsman background and site survey and development experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in tenant improvement, commercial projects is preferred. 
  • Experience with permit expediting and architectural planning preferred.
