Sr Design Engineer (New Product Development)

Responsibilities
- Acquire an understanding of the design and manufacture of Hydraulic components and systems (Pumps and Rotary Actuators).
- Review, develop, and prepare project documentation following industry and internal standards.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and other departments both written and orally.
- Develop DFMEAs and subsequent test plans in order to mitigate design risks.
- Develop engineering sketches, specifications, and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape, and layout of new designs.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance to ensure designs are streamlined for manufacturability through design reviews.
- Evaluate and approve designs and specification changes through continuous improvement.
- Assist with reliability and validation testing.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 7+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineering (2-6 years’ experience for a staff level Design Engineer).
- Experience in hydraulic component design and/or fluid power is ideal.
- Experience with engineering 3D CAD and Analysis Tools (Solidworks, Testing, CREO, FEA, ANSYS, etc.).
- Experience with material science applied to mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV etc.)

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study required. MBA, CPA, CMA desirable.
- Prior experience with Standard Costing practices within manufacturing environment required.
- 5+ years’ experience analyzing past results, performing variance analysis, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements to senior management.
- 5+ years’ experiences ideally gained through providing decision support for growth initiatives and strategic planning within a global manufacture operation.
- Experience with ERP system required; SAP critical
- Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, well-developed financial analysis capabilities, and demonstrated ability to manage micro computer operations and applications.
