Sr. Cloud Security Specialist
Hire EIQ is working with a high-profile data-driven health system in the Chicago area to identify individuals to join their growing cybersecurity team. This position is crucial to building an advanced team that will help the organization navigate during a time of organizational growth. You will have direct input into the strategy, tools and overall program.
This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible with temporary Covid-19 work from home protocol. This role has on-call duties for production problems or investigating incidents during off hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
Role:
- Lead Cybersecurity Team initiatives to define and build reliable, scalable, and secure architecture using Microsoft Azure cloud technologies and services.
- Make recommendations to stand-up and configure security in a variety of Azure technologies and services, helping to continually add new features to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability in a hybrid architecture.
- Navigate best practice, regulatory, and industry practices and requirements, reflective of the organizational risk tolerance, to create, secure, and sustain repeatable technology patterns.
- Use automation to implement and manage secure enterprise solutions using well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- Participate in technical solution and design discussions as the security subject matter expert.
- Guide the design, development, management, support and maintenance of Microsoft’s Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Azure Active Directory/Azure Identity services.
- Investigate security incidents and perform compliance reviews.
- Provide second and third-level support and analysis during and after a security incident.
- Implement technical measures or leverage existing technologies to prevent sensitive data from leaving the organization.
Additionally:
- Serve as a liaison between business users, application owners, software vendors, and project managers to ensure security requirements are understood and interpreted correctly.
- Assist with all phases of project instantiation, including requirements gathering, evaluation, design, build, test, workflow analysis/optimization and support.
- Create technical, project management, operational, training, testing, and other documentation as required.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards, incorporating cloud technologies and DevOps/SecOps concepts as appropriate.
- Conduct cloud security business impact analyses.
- Provide status report/update on assigned projects and tasks as requested by management.
- Participate in and/or lead appropriate user forum, planning session, status meeting, and department meetings to provide a Health Information Technology perspective on pending activities and strategic initiatives.
- Foster a security culture within the team and share security best practices with technical and application team colleagues.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or Liberal Arts is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum six years of experience across Information Technology, Cloud Services, and Security is required.
- Professional-level advanced technical or security certification required. Azure-specific cloud engineer certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, .Net, Python, SQL or similar.
- Experience building and maintaining infrastructure as code with frameworks like Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc.
- Advanced understanding of incident management and vulnerability remediation with excellent technical investigation and problem solving skills.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity industry standard frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO, and CSA.
- Ability to understand and translate technical terminology and related aspects of projects.
- Ability to work alone and in a team setting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of healthcare applications, trends and industry standards a plus.
