State Coordinator (Southeast)
Position Description
The State Coordinator manages and oversees the day-to-day tasks of the state(s) division of the iteachU.S. alternative certification program or ARL. This role will be primarily in the service of Tennessee operations and, secondarily, other aligned states in the region.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Maintaining local education agency relationships
- Answering questions about the program (phone and email)
- Progressing teacher candidates through the program timeline
- Attending conferences, workshops, and career fairs (as needed)
- Managing Field Supervisor placements and job performance
Primary Objectives
- Promote the advantages and benefits of the iteach program
- Provide exceptional customer service experience
- Work with management to increase brand positioning
Specific Responsibilities of the Job
- Maintaining local education agency relationships
- Act as primary contact for district/school personnel for all inquiries about the program as well as questions about their teachers’ progression.
- Coordinate with district/school personnel to advertise/promote job openings and teacher job fairs.
- Answering questions about the program
- Primary contact for general administration email inbox. Respond to 30-50 daily emails (average) ranging from general questions to teacher account-specific issues within one business day.
- Primary contact for Tennessee-specific inbound phone calls regarding program questions.
- Internal subject matter expert on Tennessee certification. Resource for other iteach team members to equip them to answer questions about the program.
- Progressing teacher candidates through the program timeline
- Responsible for reviewing hired paperwork completed by schools to verify teaching position qualifications and assigning Field Supervisors.
- Responsible for reviewing licensure applications prior to sign-off and submission to the DOE (depending on state procedures).
- Responsible for final review of complete teacher file prior to sign-off and submission of the licensure to the DOE (depending on state procedures).
- Attending conferences, workshops, and career fairs
- Attend state and national conferences to fulfill the primary objectives of the role.
- Attend and educate potential applicants at local job fairs. This responsibility includes presenting as well as hosting a vendor table.
- Managing Field Supervisor placements and job performance (where Residency is applicable)
- The primary point of contact for supervisors is to ask questions and educate them on the process.
- Write regular newsletter-type correspondence keeping Field Supervisors informed of program and certification updates.
- Review semester-end documentation to ensure completeness and correctness.
- Regular review performance reports ensure job functions are being completed to satisfaction and timely.
Job Requirements
- Broad knowledge of teacher certification
- Above average skills in typing
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience in providing excellent customer service
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree
- School Experience preferred

Denton, Texas
Travel
Requires <10% travel.

Monday – Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM (PST)
Salary
$62,500 annually (paid bi-weekly)
