Analogiks is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to support our client in Rockville, MD that will lead software development teams and will have overall responsibility for technology planning, solutions architecture, product roadmaps and delivery. This position supports tactical and strategic company goals and requires close collaboration with other organizational units and groups.


The Software Engineering Manager will be directly responsible for development and engineering efforts, oversee product/project delivery and act as the technical spokesperson for our clients products and solutions developed. Reports to the CEO. The Software Engineering Manager will also support the technical components of new business development efforts and work closely with our clients sales and marketing team.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages (software) product development staff and teams. Responsible for software development team composition and structure, staffing, hiring and performance.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates day-to-day project staff (including any contractors) and ensures that project activities and progress meet customer goals and requirements
  • Ensures all stakeholders are aware of project goals, scope, objectives, critical success factors, roles/responsibilities, and milestones
  • Works with clients and staff to establish methods, techniques and tools required to coordinate successful delivery and rollout of the projects
  • Identifies issues, assesses alternatives and risks, and implements solutions while keeping overall project on track
  • Responsible for maintaining cost and schedule tools, ROMs, etc. Assists in budgeting for existing projects and potential bids
  • Facilitates meetings; produces reports; prepares, updates, and implements the project plan
  • Mentors and coaches the staff for performance improvements and professional development
  • Implements best practices and standards for IT processes
  • Works on proposal initiatives, including write up, review, ROMs and estimates, team reviews and resources selection

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • 2+ years performing systems architecture and systems engineering
  • Ability to lead the design, create solutions to solve unique customer problems.
  • Prior software development experience with at least 5 years of coding/programming experience
  • Five years of experience managing software development projects using Waterfall and/or Scrum and Hybrid methodologies
  • Experience with modern technology and software development tools for example: Jenkins, Maven, GitLab, Junit, Ansible, Cucumber, Jasmin, Burp, Nikto, Selenium, JMeter, etc.
  • 7. Experience in Solutioning enterprise systems using COTS as core software components and performing software integration
  • Experience leading and managing a staff of professionals, testers, analysts, developers, engineers, and subcontract staff; as they implement system configuration, migrate data, deliver training, and provide support and testing

9. Experience supporting new business development efforts including development of technical briefing slides

10. Experience in supporting the technical aspects of technical and pricing proposals

11. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

12. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

13. Strong facilitation, coordination and organizational skills


Desired Skills that are a Plus:

  • Experience with Java, J2EE, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, JIRA, Eclipse, ESRI, Spring, JBoss, Angular
  • Search Engine software and technology experience especially Solr
  • Geospatial domain area experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in system/software solution development and delivery, specifically in a cloud environment, especially AWS and Azure
  • Experience working in around Federal Government and working knowledge of contracting, funding, etc.
  • Security Clearance: US Government Top Secret clearance and be TS/SCI eligible
