Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Forklift Operator

Receiving Clerk duties and responsibilities

A Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining delivery counts and quality control procedures for incoming deliveries. Their duties include unloading delivery trucks, using a forklift, checking incoming shipments against purchase orders, organizing and storing shipments until the product is delivered to the end user. Other duties and responsibilities of a Receiving Clerk include:

Responsibilities for Receiving Clerk

• Unload and unpack shipments of products
• Inspect shipments for damage and correct quantities
• Accept and sign for inbound deliveries
• Report damages or shortages to the appropriate person (procurement)
• Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data on paperwork
• Maintains records of all received shipments and record receiving data in company databases
• Prepare and organize received stock for inventory
• Process returns for any defective or incorrect items
• Ensures that shipping dock is clean and organized

Qualifications for Receiving Clerk

• Basic math and organization skills
• Ability to bend and lift 50 pounds or more
• Detail-oriented mindset
• Data entry and computer skills
• Capable of operating forklifts and other equipment to move heavy shipments
• Ability to work on feet for long hours, in various temperatures
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-starter, ability to work without supervision
• Understanding of safety protocols and requirements
• Preferd experience in Shipping and Receiving

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
