Job Summary:
Implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with health and safety requirements of the organization.
Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.
Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.
Serves in a liaison capacity with the resident contract agency representative and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.
Drafts all necessary reports to federal, state and local agencies.
Coordinates audits of health and safety programs within the organization.
Assists in the development and conducts basic health, safety and environment (HSE) training to employees.
Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.
May administer a HSE program on a large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BA + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/ or education. Prior commercial construction experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidate has construction safety, loss prevention experience and possess a current Cal OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Card, Competent Person training in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Trench & Excavation and Confined Space certification. Current CHST credential preferred but not required. Candidate shall have general knowledge of safety for Concrete and Reinforcing Steel with PT Cable on high rise or midrise and Structure Steel Erection experience.

NICE TO HAVE:
High Rise construction experience preferred & $200,000,000 project size experience

Two roles currently live are similar, but different projects.
One needs high rise experience as a must have. The other would be nice to have high rise. 2nd non-required building is $300M high rise, 25 story building, mixed use
High rise – one requires prior high rise experience. It is a huge $1b+ project.
California local LA commercial building safety experience.
No civil experience. Not the same as these high rise projects.
Both in Los Angeles, shouldn’t be out of touch with recent California/LA projects for more than about 2 years.
Mixed use – commercial, retail and residential living tower.
Similar projects coming to a close may be a good area to look at finding candidates
