JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Product Analyst on our product management team, you will lead the development of products that solve business and user problems by collaborating with others.

  • Analyze and define product requirements for developers that provide the best solution for business needs and market requirements.
  • Serve as agile/scrum product owner. Attend daily stand-ups, provide guidance, resolve impediments.
  • Build a strong partnership with developers and quality assurance. Collaborate to find efficient ways to satisfy business and user needs.
  • Prioritize own work and that of the development team based on relative importance to the business. Prioritize the agile backlog accordingly. Track status of each user story.
  • Capture enhancements and features in product documentation and admin tools.
  • When needs differ by client or market segment, specify configuration options. Set up the default configuration appropriately for each market segment.
  • Train newer members of the team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with market-facing product management staff to understand the needs of each market segment as they pertain to assigned enhancements and features. Analyze information gained from multiple sources; reconcile conflicting inputs, through configurations where appropriate.
  • Convey the product vision, strategy and roadmap to internal peers.
  • Share product enhancement ideas and their relative priority with market-facing product management staff.
  • Analyze and define product requirements for developers that provide the best solution for business needs and market requirements conveyed by market-facing product management staff.
  • Documentation includes user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications when warranted.
  • When needs differ by client or market segment, specify configuration options. Set up the default configuration appropriately for each market segment. Generally existing functionality should remain a config so that current clients are not affected.
  • Use knowledge and experience to identify interdependencies. Learn and apply knowledge of best practices for internet technologies, apps and web services.
  • Consistently address performance & reliability, compliance & security, usability & design, analytics & reporting, admin & content management, and browser use & compatibility.
  • Mock up and annotate user interface wireframes.
  • Build a strong partnership with developers and quality assurance. Learn their lingo and perspectives to more effectively communicate with them. Collaborate to find efficient ways to satisfy business and user needs.
  • Serve as agile/scrum product owner for assigned enhancements and features. Attend daily stand-ups, provide guidance based on knowledge gained from market facing product management staff or capability aligned peers. Resolve impediments.
  • Prioritize own work and that of the development team based on relative importance to the business. Prioritize the agile backlog accordingly. Track status of each user story.
  • Review dev work in relation to requirements. Conduct initial User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Identify issues that may result in not meeting expectations as early as possible; Inform stakeholders of concerns and propose solutions when possible.
  • Determine if enhancements or features should be noted in process.
  • Capture enhancements and features in product documentation and admin tools.
  • Coordinate training of internal partners.
  • Know our product’s commonly used capabilities and learn more advanced configurations.
  • Participate in retrospectives to assess what is working well and lessons learned; propose process improvements.
  • Train newer members of the team.
  • Lead small cross-enterprise teams.
FREQUENT INTERACTIONS
You will frequently interact with more senior product management team members and Dev/QA. You will also interact with product training, product support and implementation.

  • Knowledge of and experience with product management fundamentals
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related major and minimum 1 year of software/product management or business analysis experience
  • Or any bachelor degree and minimum 3 years of product management or business analysis experience
Prefer experience in healthcare, such as clinical quality and/or financial products
Prefer experience in agile, scrum or Kanban
