Job Description:

Greetings! Second Dinner is hard at work on a (still secret, but super fun!) Marvel mobile game. We seek a talented analytics leader with a passion for product to join our team. This foundational role will be a driver of our game’s live operation and growth. We’re looking for someone who is hungry to get their hands dirty learning and building alongside us. Second Dinner has big aspirations, and this role can multiply the success of our game and provide a playbook for the studio’s future work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, own, and champion data analysis
  • Build performance monitoring, reporting, and dashboards to monitor the health of the game, marketing effectiveness, and business performance KPIs
  • Partner with the engineering team to instrument the game
  • Work with the team to help improve the game, drawing on a deep understanding of the player experience using both data and intuition
  • Design tests to optimize engagement, retention, and business performance and partner cross-functionally to execute and refine based on results
  • Partner with design and production to drive live operation of events, sales, and offers
  • Balance and optimize in-game virtual economy


Required skills:

  • Deep experience and passion for data analysis, reporting, and tools
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics and/or product management
  • Experience in SQL and with analytical tools and services (e.g., Tableau, Amplitude)
  • Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative cross-functional work environment
  • Experience in product optimization using testing
  • Passion for making and playing amazing games, especially on mobile
  • Ability to think both analytically and creatively with faith that the best solutions are usually art + science


Pluses:

  • Technical experience building an integrated marketing and product analytics platform
  • Experience in mobile free-to-play games and/or video game development
  • Experience in managing people
  • MS/MBA, preferably in a quantitative discipline

Second Dinner is located in sunny Orange County, CA. We are a small studio that believes in moving fast and giving everyone a feeling of ownership. People who join us will have a massive impact on both the game and the company.
