Job Description:
Our mission is to: “Create student leaders who value quality education and embrace their role as contributing members of our diverse community.  We currently have a  part-time Psychologist role available.

Responsibilities:
  • Counsel children and families to help solve conflicts and learning problems (2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday - 8 hours).
  • Develop individualized educational plans with teachers and other staff.
  • Maintain student records, including special education reports and behavioral data.
  • Serve as a resource for families and schools during crises.
  • Attend professional workshops and seminars to stay informed about new developments in school psychology.
  • Refer students and their families to appropriate community agencies for various services.
  • Promote tolerance, understanding, and diversity in school communities.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and other services.
  • Provide educational programs on topics such as classroom management and parenting skills.
  • Research to generate new knowledge to address learning and behavior issues.
  • Interpret students' test results to diagnose conditions and assess eligibility for special services.
  • Report any pertinent information to the proper authorities in child endangerment, neglect, or abuse cases.
  • Assess individual children's needs, limitations, and potential.
  • Administer and score psychological tests.
  • Consult various parties on topics like learning styles and behavior modification techniques.
  • Promote an understanding of child development and its relationship to learning and behavior.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in psychology from a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) approved program.
  • A Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential with a Specialization in School Psychology (Desired).
  • A Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) license from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Experience providing counseling to children and families.
  • Experience developing educational plans and maintaining student records.
  • Active participation in workshops and seminars related to school psychology.
  • Experience in referrals and crisis management.
