Sanitation Supervisor Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision and utilization of equipment, materials and people in a food production environment.
  • Ensure accuracy of all aspects of the master sanitation schedule are maintained and updated as new methods become available.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the production and warehouse areas.
  • Monitor and enforce proper sanitation and housekeeping procedures.
  • Write, update and maintain Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supervise accurate and timely reporting of work in process and completes all relevant paperwork and management reporting.
  • Manage processes to assure sanitation and microbiological specifications, quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Investigate and diagnose microbiological and sanitation issues in a timely manner.  Ensure that corrective action is obtained and maintained.
  • Provide training and cross-training to assure that product specifications, quality requirements and safety standards are met.
  • Evaluate and recommends improvements to product manufacturability.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and Food Safety Standards established in the facility.
  • Participation in pre-operative inspections with Line Leads.
  • Understands and ensures all Food Safety policies are being followed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to understand and comply with facility procedures.
  • Ability to handle and apply various chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Strong ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide to record, balance and check results for accuracy
  • Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as working in a team.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work outcomes while demonstrating the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Must be proactive and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally carry, push and pull loads of at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, reach, squat and stretch.
