JOB TITLE:  Registered Nurse Specialty Nurse ll

LOCATION: Knapper Clinic

DEPARTMENT:  Hematology and Oncology

WORK SCHEDULE: Days

WORK TYPE: Full time

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Serves in an expanded role to assess hematology/oncology patient needs, plan and provide nursing care, and coordinate follow-up care. Participates in research and educates patients and nursing staff.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.

Works under the direction and is directly accountable to the Operations Manager.

 

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Proficiency using computers

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.

Registered nurse currently licensed in Pennsylvania, or eligible to be licensed, required.

Knowledge of cancer chemotherapy and protocol research preferred. Chemotherapy Provider Course completion required.

BSN (or in active pursuit) required. MSN preferred

Participation in continuing education activities to maintain and enhance knowledge required.

Ability to obtain Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) within two years required.

Minimum two years clinical experience, with experience in Hematology-Oncology, required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
