Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Regional Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a variety of ground support equipment used in aviation operations. Your expertise will contribute to the safe and efficient functioning of our equipment, ensuring that aircraft operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of ground support equipment, including baggage loaders, tugs, fuel trucks, and power units, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.

2. Diagnosis: Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and address problems efficiently.

3. Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime, maximize equipment lifespan, and ensure operational reliability.

4. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment status, using electronic systems or manual logs as required by company procedures and industry regulations.

5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards while performing maintenance and repair tasks, minimizing risks and hazards to personnel and equipment.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance personnel, supervisors, and operational teams to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure equipment availability as needed.

7. Parts Management: Manage and maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for equipment maintenance and repairs.

8. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all maintenance work is conducted to the highest quality standards, following company guidelines and industry best practices.

9. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or failures to minimize disruptions to aircraft operations, employing effective troubleshooting skills to restore functionality.

10. Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest GSE technologies, equipment models, and maintenance techniques through continuous training and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical education in automotive, heavy equipment, or aviation mechanics is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications, such as ASE certification. 
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing ground support equipment, preferably in an aviation or airport environment.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in GSE equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and conveying technical information.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform tasks in tight spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
  • Background check and drug screening may be required.
