Agilent Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for its growing consumables manufacturing facility located in Sacramento California area.

 

The Quality Engineer position is responsible for maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System, ensuring that products are designed, engineered and manufactured in conformance with required standards and regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring new manufacturing processes and equipment are developed and deployed according to established business processes. This job role works closely with Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Marketing and Production personnel in the evaluation and improvement of products and processes. The primary focus of this Quality Engineer position will be to support the existing laboratory consumables business and will grow to incorporate special projects and leadership responsibilities.

Agilent is seeking experienced, energetic and motivated individuals with demonstrated skills in quality, teamwork and communication.

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in related field (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, etc.) and 8+ years relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality investigations, determine root cause and deliver improvements
  • Experience working with mechanical or injection-molded processes and products, including interpreting engineering drawings, setting appropriate tolerances, DFM, etc.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentation experience
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical data analysis and data presentation
  • Demonstrated skills in multi-tasking, planning and organizing workload
  • Talent for establishing and maintaining positive work relationships

 

Preferred Skills and Experience include:

  • Experience with gas or liquid chromatography, including knowledge of basic chromatographic principles and troubleshooting methods
  • Understanding of key customer quality requirements for the laboratory consumables market
  • Experience working in an FDA or ISO 13485 regulated environment
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management system
