Hurley Precision Machining a close tolerance precision machine shop is currently looking to hire a mechanical inspector/quality professional. This position is crucial to the day to day inspection of parts, our ISO program and an expanding customers quality documentation requirement.

This is a full-time position requiring a willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis for a company that offers a full suite of benefits including, medical, dental, paid vacation, sick days and more. Compensation is based on skills, experience and attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Must have hands on experience programming CMM’s with PC-DMIS software using CAD models or mechanical blueprints;
  • Proficient with manual inspection tools. (micrometers. Height gages, Vernier’s, etc.)
  • Can apply correct inspection methods and techniques to perform inspection in a timely manner.
  • Calibrate manual inspection tools and properly maintain tools and calibration database.
  • Create NCR’s on discrepant material/parts and ensure that nonconforming product is segregated. Ensure NCR’s are forwarded to quality leader in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with machinist to maximize the quality of manufactured products and resolve quality related issues during the first article inspection and in-process inspection.
  • Must have high level working knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Mil-Specs, and Quality Management System standards such as SAE AS9100, and ISO9001.
  • Must Conduct, First Article Inspection, In-Process Inspection & Final Inspection.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including the use of ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other common software.
  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of GD&T

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma

5 years’ experience and/or training in a mechanical inspection environment

REASONING ABILITY

inspectors must possess strong mechanical and assembly knowledge, as well as the ability to understand the impact of their actions on all product realization process.
