Programmer/Analyst 6 – QA

Nashville, TN

Long term contract

 

Description of Duties (primary & secondary)        % of Total Work Effort

Understand the data flows, business requirements and expected outcomes of software being developed in house.

10%

 

Develop user acceptance focused test plans for each application requiring QA

30%

 

Execute test plans and develop a process within the team for communicating, recording and regression testing of testing defects.

40%

 

Execute against strategies to improve the maturity of the QA discipling within the Education Agency, including helping move towards code coverage testing, integration testing, scale & performance testing, security testing, and automated regression testing.

10%

 

Mentor other more junior QA analysts to ensure all projects are tested properly. 10%

 

The Quality Assurance Analyst will develop testing plans for application software as part of a software development lifecycle (SDLC).  The test plans will include sup-plan for: User Acceptance Testing (i.e. Exit Criteria), Performance Criteria and Functional Testing.  The QA Analyst may also execute plans prepared by other QA analysts and work with the developers to ensure that all changes to applications have been thoroughly tested prior to release of the software into production.

 

Required Skills:

•             Understanding of typical SDLC in an agile environment.

•             Familiar and comfortable with contemporary application software testing paradigms including:

o             Unit Testing

o             Functional Testing

o             Performance Testing

o             User Acceptance Testing

•             Understand bug management and regression testing concepts

•             Familiar with at least one popular QA tool such as VSTS, LoadRunner, nUnit, xUnit

•             Has basic understanding of N-Tier and services oriented architecture in a cloud environment.

 

Minimum Experience:

•             Three or more years of experience QA analyst in a contemporary software application environment.
