Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE: The QA Technician will performs testing and inspection of products, processes and applicable documentation. Analyzes and solves process and product quality issues, prepares inspection and testing instructions, manages non-conformances and corrective action, assists design and quality engineers with product analysis, develops quality control sampling plans, and applies statistical techniques for process or product controls and prepares formal quality/test reports per company procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs product testing and inspection of supplied and manufactured products.
  • Reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy from customers, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Ensures product conformance with customer, regulatory and/or internal requirements.
  • Performs full dimensional reports and product validation in accordance with engineering drawings.
  • Operates and maintains testing and inspection equipment and ensures proper calibration.
  • Coordinates product-testing requirements to customer, regulatory, and internal specifications
  • Manages Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and Corrective Actions Reports (CAR's)
  • Assists with root cause analysis to eliminate and/or prevent non-conforming products
  • Assists Design and Quality Engineers with product analysis using statistical techniques.
  • Implements and maintains Statistical Process Control (SPC) in manufacturing
  • Develops metrics that provide visibility of Quality Management System (QMS) performance.
  • Develops acceptance testing procedures, plans and protocols.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate/Diploma from a Technical or Trade school and (3-6) + months of experience in a manufacturing or testing facility; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) and Certified Quality Technician (CQT) per ASQ guidelines – desired
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and application
  • Proficient computer skills including general business software (i.e. MS Office, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Intermediate Math and Reading Comprehension, and Statistical skills
  • Able to effectively work individually and as a team
  • Able to take initiative and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changes and assume new responsibilities
  • High level of Integrity, and Professionalism
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish
