Job Responsibilities

• Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex critical, chronically ill, and acute patients.
• Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic tests concerning the needs of the patient, and follow up on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being adequately met.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to ensure the health and comfort of all patients.
• Implement measures to assist patients in regaining and sustaining physiologic endurance to include serving in the first assisting role.
• Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions.
• Facilitate the staff and the patient as well as the family decision-making process by providing educational tools for self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.

Our latest Locum Tenens assignment is in the Lancaster, SC area at a fantastic short-term inpatient mental health facility. The facility offers patients and staff an expansive and nurturing setting to provide a welcoming environment top-flight treatment.  They are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for normal weekly hours as well as for weekend coverage.  We hope that you are the one!

You will receive:

· Hourly Compensation

· Malpractice coverage at 1mil/3mil

· Travel and lodging covered

Duration:

· Immediate-ongoing

Hours:

· 8:00am-5:00pm Monday – Monday through Friday

· Weekend coverage is also needed twice a month and overtime is available to candidates

Particulars:

· Patients are all adult

· 2-3 patients seen per hour

· All H & Ps performed by Medical NP

· 100% paper charting

· Position is in tandem with physician director and another Psychiatric NP

Requirements:

· Active and Unrestricted South Carolina license

· Board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or verifiable experience as a Psychiatric NP
