The Project Manager, Project Management Office is responsible for understanding how projects fit into the company strategy and ensuring overall business success of the projects. Is responsible for overseeing Portfolio to ensure that projects and programs are completed on time, within budget and conform to business requirements. The Project Manager is also responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects through a cross-functional team of in-direct reporting relationships, in a matrix organization, leading and guiding the team through each phase of a project from conceptualization through commercialization. Assigned projects may include, but is not limited to New Products, Continuous Improvement and they may vary in complexity and global market reach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Responsible for all Aspects of Product Development Gate Process from New Product Introduction to Project Completion. This includes such items as Timeliness, Cost, Quality, Performance, Risk, etc.
- Manage and Coordinate all Project Managers in Alignment with Portfolio.
- Provides coaching and development to others on process and project management skills, including Core team, functional project manager, etc.
- Establishes, Coordinates, Maintains Timely Information and Directs Project Programs to Meet Timeline and Defined Project Goals.
- Set, Monitor and Manage Scope Changes.
- Assess Program Risk Relating to Timeline, Feasibility, Cost, etc. and Implement Sound Practices to Reduce/ Eliminate those Risks through Mitigation and Planning.
- Capacity Management and Prioritization of Resources Required to Meet Time, Cost and Requirements.
- Work closely with the all Functional Areas of the Company to Complete Projects on time, meeting defined project goals.
- Prepares and Monitors Budgets and Strategic Tactical Actions.
- Develop and Execute Effective Communications Programs Promoting Team Involvement and Decision Making and Ensuring Critical Employee Relationships are Positively Maintained.
- Maintain Effective Working Relationships/ Communications with Key Support Functions; Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree with an emphasis in Engineering, The Physical Sciences, Business, Finance or Marketing.
- Minimum 10 years of Project and/or Program Management Experience or combination of Project Engineering Experience.
- Minimum 5 years Management Experience
- Cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution skills required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of coordinating the standardization of global systems, procedures, and practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, able to handle and prioritize multiple projects and related tasks.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a timely, practical and cost-effective manner.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, database applications, etc.)
- Ability to lead and facilitate cross- functional teams through problem resolution and/or crisis management.
- Ability to influence people inside and outside of the organization at all levels.
- Strong problem solving and presentation skills
