About the Role

This is a dual Estimator / Project Manager role offering the best of both worlds: strategic preconstruction leadership and hands-on project delivery. You’ll play a key role in shaping how projects are estimated, executed, and managed—helping refine systems, mentor others, and ensure successful project outcomes.

Your efforts will directly support leadership by freeing up senior managers to focus on broader business initiatives, while you take ownership of estimating, project oversight, and client satisfaction on assigned work.

Estimator Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis of past project performance to develop data-driven estimating standards for future bids.
  • Oversee the effectiveness of bid management and estimating software, driving efficiency and accuracy across the department.
  • Establish standardized estimating methods and processes and ensure they are adopted consistently across teams.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to other estimators and preconstruction staff.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on estimating strategy, risk management, and business development efforts.
  • Serve as the final authority on procedures, techniques, and personnel decisions within the estimating team for assigned projects.

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Champion safety and ensure compliance with all branch and project-specific safety programs.
  • Proactively manage and resolve punch lists, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
  • Take ownership of quality control (QA/QC) measures on assigned projects.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s building systems, materials, and methods.
  • Coordinate field activities, maximizing productivity and efficiency across trades.
  • Perform quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and process change orders.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project schedules, collaborating closely with field supervisors and foremen.
  • Conduct labor control analysis to optimize profitability and resource allocation.
  • Manage vendor selection, materials procurement, and subcontractor buyout processes.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, billing, and change orders to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare and review monthly job cost reports (FAWs) to monitor financial performance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting the branch’s Customer Alignment Plan and contributing to the company’s reputation for excellence.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial drywall and/or steel stud framing.
  • Deep understanding of both estimating and project management processes.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain composure in dynamic environments.
  • Proficiency in relevant estimating and project management software.
  • A collaborative, solutions-driven mindset with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

Why Join This Company

  • Industry prestige: A trusted name at the top of the commercial drywall and framing industry.
  • Defined growth path: Internal promotions are the norm, not the exception.
  • Strong leadership: Work directly with industry veterans who value mentorship and career development.
