KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate equipment to produce a product that is in full compliance with required product specifications and any instructions appearing on the manufacturing order.
- Pre-plate inspection of all materials produced by the wire-draw dept. Alert wire draw operators and supervisors of all non-conforming products to minimize scrap and production loss due to poor quality.
- Must pass all quality audits of quality procedures and quality paperwork including product identification tags and grading.
- Identify off-spec plated material as described in our operating procedures so the finishing operators can eliminate this material from the production run.
- Required to operate the equipment above standard production rates consistently while meeting all quality and safety requirements.
- Consistently meet production rates while meeting all quality and safety standards.
- Responsible for the typical daily preventative maintenance (PM) duties of the machine. Works with maintenance group and team associates during scheduled weekly line PM’s to maximize productivity. Responsible for the reject rate and scrap minimization generated by his/her machine.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities as requested.
- Optimize production utilizing SPC techniques to reduce copper deposit thickness to the lowest acceptable value.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed which may require more than the normal shift hours or workweek to meet company needs
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- One year of experience in plating required.
- Must either have prior forklift training or be able to receive forklift training and maintain a certificate.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic skills (reading, writing), basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Must be able to learn and understand plating process requirements and possess skills to troubleshoot, react, and correct failures in the process due to unplanned situations.
- Measuring tools, basic (Calipers, Micrometers, Copper Thickness Gauge).
- Must have good physical stamina and be able to lift 50 pounds. This position requires pulling, lifting, and pushing steel coil material.
- Work in a chemical environment that is hot and humid wearing the appropriate PPE.
- Must understand specifications as they relate to the product produced.
- Must communicate well with others

Salary: $10.00 to $12.00 /hour
