Product Manager

Role Summary



This is high visibility strategic product manager role that will collaborate with both internal and external team members across multiple business channels as well as agents, distributors, and contractors to promote Southwire products. This individual will be responsible for managing the Industrial and Flexible Cord, EV and Telecom products and engage in daily commercial activities related to reporting, pricing analysis, marketing, customer support, lead time management, and inventory planning and tracking. They will also engage with Product Development to develop & launch products that meet market needs.



 



Description of Duties and Responsibilities



•Develop vision for product line through strategic roadmaps, business plans, pricing strategy and new product development projects



•Work closely with other team members to determine and monitor department’s key performance (KPIs) such as sales vs. plan, new business goals, and gross profit percentage



•Develop strategies with sales channels to understand market growth opportunities, plan capacity and inventory placement that aligns with market needs



•Understand product applications and installation methods to support customer needs and to recognize opportunities for new product innovation



•Become an expert with respect to product category and competition in strategic vertical markets



•Communicate and coordinate sales opportunities and quotations across the various business channels



•Manage and coordinate with customer service including but not limited to quotations, order management, materials analysis and expedites



•Create a solution driven, leadership persona both internally and externally while collaborating with other functions within the corporation and customer organization



•Encourage team building and a high-performance work environment through ongoing developmental training, leadership, and people management skills



•The product manager will manage product specialist(s) to assist them with day-to-day activities



 



Qualifications and Experience Requirements



•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related degree is required or 5+ years wire and cable technical and/or sales experience



•Ability to travel, as much as 30%



•Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven business acumen, proven presentation skills, exceptional interpersonal capabilities and possess an attention to detail



•Relevant experience in a similar technical environment is preferred



•Knowledge of SW IT systems is required (SAP, BI, etc.)



•Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge is required
