Job Description:

United States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a Metallurgical Process Engineer.The Metallurgical Process Engineer will be responsible for providing process engineering and technical support for the Melt Shop, Electric Arc Furnace, Continuous Casting, and Refractory. This position will make recommendations on how to improve safety, environmental, quality and operational efficiencies which can include changes/enhancements to current operating practices as well as equipment upgrades and modifications. 

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to 
- Knowledgeable of operations, operating procedures, and equipment
- Identifying opportunities for improvements in the Melt Shop area
- Implementing and support process improvement action plans
- Providing cost estimates on process improvement projects
- Supporting and participating in CAPEX projects

Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings
- Ability to operate cad software is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
- Perform a full range of process control duties in the Melt Shop and Electric Arc Furnace including material movement, mass and energy balances, instrumentation analysis, and troubleshooting
-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering or related experience
-Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing is a plus
